Camino verano

About the Pieces

Camino’s open weave cotton fabric has been recognized in a special exhibition at the Museo Textil de Oaxaca as living textile art. Native varieties of cotton from small family farms are ginned, spun, and woven by hand in the Sierra Madre del Sur in Mexico.

Each embroidery design is drawn freehand by Doña Claudia in San Antonino, Oaxaca. Every stitch is then placed individually by hand. This meticulous process gives the embroidery an extraordinary level of detail and a sculptural texture that cannot be replicated by machine.

Each garment is one of one.
